I am an Integrative counsellor and I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I use humanistic and psychodynamic approaches and CBT, creatively, together with my client and in a way that makes sense to both of us. I offer therapy in Canada Water SE16, in Italian and English.

I work by using a number of theories and tools that belong to different therapeutic approaches. Their common denominator is the aim to understand the interrelation between human emotions, thoughts and behaviour. I do not believe that one approach is above the others; a lot depends on the person I work with, the number of sessions available and, of course, the type of issues brought to therapy.

I have worked with referrals from GPs on a number of issues, both short and long term. I have a wide experience in bereavement counselling and trauma therapy, especially sexual abuse and violence suffered during conflict and war. I have also extensively worked with stress, particularly work related anxiety and depression.

Therapy happens weekly and is periodically reviewed. Every session (including the assessment) lasts for 50 minutes and the fee is £70/£80 per session depending on content and circumstances. The assessment session represents an opportunity for us to feel whether we can work together.

I hold an Adv. Diploma in Integrative Counselling, a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and a Certificate in Counselling. I have also been trained in EMDR (primarily to treat trauma, and more), Intro to Somatic Experiencing (Trauma and Anxiety), Trauma-Focused Psychotherapy, Working with Survivors of Sexual Violence, Time-Limited Counselling and Mental Health First Aid.

I am a registered provider of the following private health insurance companies: Axa, Bupa, Cigna, Lifeworks, Vitality, Aviva.

During the first session, I carry out an assessment by asking questions and taking notes. We then explore what the client is wishing to obtain from therapy and agree on a time scale. Every individual is unique and it is not always possible to plan how things will exactly develop in a therapeutic setting. However, below is a rough guideline:

  • 6 – 8 sessions for some task-focused work
  • 8 – 16 sessions to get to the causes of the issue
  • 16 + sessions for an in-depth journey
